oooga booga! haha i've been checking out this poor lil blog we tried to create and it died. first mike dropped away, then ray, then me! lil ol biz stayed on til the very end, but even she hasnt been on in a few months. so here's a florida update.

since i was on here last, quite a bit happened. i do believe lady pokerface has mellowed out a lil but this could just be her being sick. and tired. okay i'll quit with the third person. haha. as you can see, my typing isnt at its best, capitalizing just takes toooo loooooooong... lol jk im just tired. and i am using those annoying txt abbr. wch anoy me sooooo mch! idk i use em if i h8 em but i cnt hlp it! lol jk! i do use lol jk a lot cuz i laugh and joke around a lot and instead of doing the asterisk thing and saying *laughs out loudly* and just kidding, it makes much more sense just to type lol jk. dontchya think?

oww my back hurts from slouching! i should stop. sorry i thought you'd like a random amy comment :)

sooo im starting high school in a few days and im freaking out about it! i have so much summer homework to finish and i'm gonna get hammerred (uh mis-spelling!) with mooooore homework and i have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning. so biz, don't whine about homeschooling hours although i know ABTech can be a beast.

I'm kinda sad cuz all of my friends who I hung out with over the summer are going to a different highschool than me, and its backwards. Over the summer i got so much closer to the people who are leaving me in a few days! i mean what the heckles?

And there's the crush... but we wont go there.

i just visited NC a few days ago as some of you know and im terribly sorry that i didnt get to visit you but i really had to finish packing the house. i truly would have rathered hang out with you all but my mom said not to make any plans. it sucks. (pardon my harsh words)

um, hey you know how i used to be like all tan and blonde-ish and stuff? well its soooo funny cuz over the summer i got paler and darker haired! hahahahaha! i laugh at me! I'm still thin as a twig but now im more like a branch. My bff (haha abbr.s!) calls me a tree cuz i have some pretty awesome abs that she thinks is like a trunk or something. she's a lil wacko if you catch my drift... i think we are like two peas in a pod!

GUESS WHAT!? we found a church! I KNOW IM HAPPY TOO! it will never take the place in my heart that y'all did though. i love you all wayyyy too much for that. i could go into how incredible you all are but i think you already know :)

as you may have noticed im a lil sleep-deprived. i got 5 hours of sleep last night and i had my contacts in all night long too. the night before that i slept for a decent 8 hours but for the 3 or four days before that i only slept maybe five or six hours every night. which is really bad for me! if the time isnt displayed on here somewhere, its 12:52 on august eleventh, two thousand eight.

okay well like i said i love you all sooo much and you must come visit me cuz ray is a legal adult and biz can down here and road trips are oh so fun when I'm at one end! bring anyone ya'll want, we'd love to see you all, yes even freeman (hahahah just kidding dude)

hey before i go, i wanna edit a post i posted like last year. i was talking about ray being in the movie and i was saying something about my big realization? well i know the word for it now, epiphany! and if you have any big vocab words for me to learn, shoot em my way cuz i could use the practice!

New Year

Hey everyone! It is 2008, can you believe it? Here is some stuff I want to see happen this year. In no particular order:

-Heavy snowfall in Asheville, N.C. (not Boone or thirty minutes west of us.)

-Our youth group's highschoolers double in number.

-Keep my room clean for 21 days straight. (It takes 21 days to form a habit.)

-Think what would Jesus think before what will my friend's think.

-Be able to wear nail polish for 24 hours before it chips.

-Learn to type faster.

-Remember to clean the kitty litter before my mom has to tell me.

-Be able to serve a volleyball fifty times in a row without missing.

-Memorize a new Bible verse every week.

-People besides me actually use the blog!!! (and just reading everyone else's posts doesn't count)

Ok when I first started I felt that I had a million wishes but that was really hard. Oh well.)

Thanksgiving

It is the third week in November and we all know what that means. This is the time when your mom and dad start worrying about cooking that turkey, and who gets to wash the truckloads of dishes after the meal. It is the time when stores advertize their After-Thanksgiving-Day Sale. And it is the time where we lean back in our chairs pat our stomachs and start looking for that first snowfall of the year.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that is unique to America. Unique as in the only one of its kind. America is the only nation in the world that has a holiday designed to give thanks to God. America is also the only country in the world founded as a Christian Nation. You might laugh at that when you think of all the stuff happening in your school or on the news. But if you look around at the other countries in the world you can count your blessings that you live in America the Great.

P.S. It is also the only country in the world that plays football on Thanksgiving. Go Cowboys!

Hey everyone who came to Kevnash's house on Sunday that was fun. i would post a pix of the finished piece but don't have a photo. Hey We are Pink!!!! Just checking to see how long it would take for anyone to notice. Don't worry I will depinkify us in the near future. I just felt like a lil bit of a change. So I went pink because October is Nation Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Traveling Halloween Party

Trick or Treat is coming up. Anyone who wants to join a traveling party come join us as we travel around some nieghborhoods in the back of the truck and trailer. So far we have about 10 peeps coming. This is our third or fourth year doing this and it has become quite a fun tradition. So put on a costume and grab a bag and let's go. Friends+candy+costumes = Tons of fun and a stomach ache. =)

The Kissmobile Is In Town

Chocolate is America's favorite candy. So who wouldn't love having a candy bar that weighs half a ton? Check out the pix of what is currently in our neighborhood. I was driving downtown Monday afternoon when I had to blink rapidly to ensure that what I saw was real. Waiting at a stoplight a very unique vehicle drove in front of me. I had heard of it before but had never had the opportunity to actually see one. Cousin to the Wienermobile the Kissmobile is in town. So keep your eyes open and hopefully you can catch a glimpse of this candy on wheels.

PANACEA on hiatus

Hey guys--
Sad news, the movie I'm supposed to be in is now on hiatus until further notice, so filming has been pushed back until at least early next year. :( Very sad. Of course this gives me a bit of a predicament since I was going to write a research paper on it and now must find a new topic...oh for joy. On the plus side, this now means I will be able to attend the blackout in two Sundays, so whoohoo! Yay for me! Don't know why I'm telling y'all this on the message board when it is probably quicker just to do it in person (never fear, I'll do that too), but it's Tuesday afternoon and I'm bored and pushing back homework with whatever excuse I can find. Yeah, I just ran out of stuff to type, so I'm outie.

Okay so we have three posts in a row on prayer. Sorry that is my fault but I went to comment on Ames and before publishing my comment saw that is was really long. So I copied and pasted and instead of having a really long comment I know have a medium post with a really cool pix. Then thinking that I really should comment on our dear friend Lady Pokerface's post I went back and made a new comment. Turns out that my new comment is even longer than the other one and remembering that I have not written anything for a while, (though I have been faithful in monitoring the blog every day) I decided to throw my hands up in the air and just post it! So here is our third post on prayer and Ames take it as a comment. I did like your writing =)

Prayer is such a big part of our life but yet such a small part. It should be easy to talk to our loving savior but instead we push it back saying I will pray tomorrow or next time. The Bible talks of prayer not as an occasional thing we do at dinner but as a way of life. A song by Michael W. Smith based on a Psalms talks living a prayer. Everything you do as a personal relationship with Jesus. For truly the only way to become closer to God is by knowing him greater which can only come about by talking to him alot. Its like having a friend. The only way to get closer to your friend is to spend time with him/her. How much cooler would it be to have a best friend who is the Lord of the Universe!

Answers

God always answers prayers. Sometimes the answer is just not what we want. When we pray we are interested in the now, the instant moment. But God is finite, he is eternal, everlasting. He knows the past, present and the future. He even knows your prayers before you speak them. God knows what is best for you, and for the world. Yes, No and Later are all answers to prayers.

A Prayer

Have you ever had a day where everything seemed to go wrong, and you prayed for a better day several times, but nothing seemed to change? Don't say you haven't had a day like that, cuz everyone does!!!! When last nights assignment goes missing the next morning, what's the first thing you want to do? Scream and sob and say, "IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!". Only when it starts to look hopeless do we remember to pray and ask for Him to help us find that stupid history homework. I realize that sometimes, the first thing you do is pray, but most Christians I know will try and do it themselves before asking God for a little help.

I can give a pretty good example... One night I was searching for my algebra homework that I had halfway done in class and was hoping to finish quickly before I went to bed. I searched all over, checking everywhere three times or more, before I thought to pray. So I laid back and prayed that God would help me find my homework. I sat back up, picked up my binder, riffled through the pages and found...... MY HOMEWORK!!!!!! I remember uttering a short "thank you" prayer before rushing to finish my homework, which wasn't enough thanks for even that small favor He helped me out with.

Now, I know you're all like "Well what if He doesn't help me?" It may not look like He's done much, but if you reflect back on that time, say you couldn't find your homework, and went to school without it, were you given an extra credit opportunity? Or maybe the teacher forgot to take up the homework, or maybe she did. Maybe you lost credit for not having it, but were allowed to make it up for twenty points deducted. Teachers are generally reasonable and will allow you to fix it, they don't want you to fail (although some may seem like it)! But what if it isn't school related? What if you've been praying for your crush to ask you out, and one day he/she asks out your best friend. Maybe this guy/girl isn't right for you, and although its heartbreaking, there are other people out there, a soul mate, I promise. And so does He. There's always a prayer to be made, there always a prayer to be said, and He always hears you.

Monday Nights

Hey, y'all--
Just wanted to remind you guys about youth group on Monday nights from six to eight at Ashvin's house, we wanna see all you guys there so we can have some fuuunnnn!!! If you don't, I'm gonna get real real real upset with everybody...and you KNOW how i get when i get upset...mwahahahaha!!!!

Why Me?

So, tomorrow, you decide that you are going to try and have the best day possible. You are determined to make the most of your day and will stop at almost nothing to do so. But... your day went a little awry. Let me summarize your day.
You snap into awareness with your alarm clock chirping at you at about 6:00 am. You don't have to be at school until 7:45, but you would like to get an early start on this wonderful day. You pick up your outfit and make sure it is perfect for your day, set it down, grab your brush, and head to the bathroom. Unfortunately, your little brother beat you there, so you wait for the fifteen minutes it takes for him to finish up after you knock. Finally, he bustles out clutching his towel around him and dripping all over the floor, but you don't mind, now you get to shower. You hop in and turn on the water to find that it is freezing cold on the hottest setting and realized that your brother must have gotten there long before you. So, instead of the luxurious shower you expected to take, it's very quick and cold with minimal extra time. Oh well, you sigh, at least the cold water keeps your hair de-frizzed!
After fixing your hair(blow-drying, straightening, styling), getting dressed, and applying make-up, (sorry guys... not for you!) you feel ready to eat something. You walk into the kitchen and open the pantry to find... your favorite cereal is all gone. All that's left is a packet of oatmeal, peanut butter, bread, and some sugar. You decide that oatmeal might spoil your best day, so you make a peanut butter sandwich. You flop on the couch for a few extra minutes of morning T.V. and some peanut butter gets on your favorite shirt, which also happens to be very stylish. While you try to get it off, you remember you need to write a report on the book you read last night. Throwing on another shirt, you rush to the computer and type something up really fast, hoping the teacher will accept it. But, once you hit print, you get an error pop-up saying you need another ink cartridge. Now in a certain state of early morning panic, you scribble down what you wrote on the computer onto a piece of paper and pray more that the teacher will except it.
At last you are ready to go to school. You double check that everything is in order in your backpack and throw it on. As you head to the door to ride your bike to school, you glance at the clock and see that it's....... SEVEN FORTY!!!!!!! You run out the door throwing on a random pair of shoes and hopping onto your bike, pedaling as fast as your legs can go, trying to beat the eight minutes it takes to get to school. At the cross walk, you realize your shoes are on the wrong feet and your helmet is in your front yard at home, and you could get a $40 ticket if you don't have it! You get across the road and hop on your bike, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. It is only now, in your time of need to be invisible, that you chose a bright electric orange shirt, and now you resemble a very loud traffic cone. You glance up and notice a police man looking at you...



Ever had one of these days? Where you plan it to be the best ever but you fall on your face and everyone laughs, then its in the newspaper, and you find out a law came out yesterday saying its illegal to have your face too close to the ground........ Murphy's Law is a sad, sad discovery. But it seems that once you plan a good day, all the bad things are amplified, so that the missing cereal becomes a big deal when that peanut butter sandwich is just as good, if not better. I would have to say that if you are having one of these days, the best thing to do is to pray because when you fall and everyone laughs, He will help you up and dust you off. Everything He does is for a reason, maybe he shows us these days so we might realize the brightness of another day, or the positive points of someone that you have come to see only the negative side of. I'm not saying to expect the worst, because you will become a very unpleasant person, but to think of everything as an opportunity, or just not to see it as the end of the world, because the end of the world will be a happy event, if you are on the right side!!!!!

No Fear

You ever have a moment when you know you should say something but you can't seem to get the words out? Then later you kick yourself again and again, going over the conversation (or the not conversation) in your mind feeling miserable and embarassed even if no one else seemed to notice. Whether it is something you wished you had said to your crush or a word of comfort to someone who is hurting you feel too worried that you'll look stupid or say the wrong thing. I don't know how many times I have stayed awake at night wishing that I had said what was in my head. That shouldn't be a problem for us; "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but of love and power and self discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 We should be able to conquer mountains and preach on street corners but we have trouble even discussing our beliefs with our best friends. Still God is more powerful than a little worry in our stomach. Hey, he created the universe using only words! Our words have the power to influence people as well. So next time the girl who sits next to you in math class asks you why you go to church just remember that God gave you a spirit of power and know that he will guide your words like he guided Philip in the desert (Acts 8) or Moses when Pharaoh laughed at him (Exodus 7). And yes, God is still there when your crush leaves you tongue tied. =)
